Restoration of historical furniture

Villa Carona was built in the 18th century by the Andreoli family of entrepreneurs from Milan and used as a summer residence. It is surrounded by houses belonging to renowned artist families such as Scala, Petrini, Solari and Casella. In the middle of the 19th century, the patrician estate was divided in two by a marriage into the Scala dynasty. The subsequent remodelling gave the building its current structure and the large garden. The last resident of the villa was a railway engineer from the Scala family. The house was converted into a hotel in 1951.

Some of the original furniture can still be found in the Villa Carona and is still in use in the rooms and lounges. The damage caused by the passage of time has now been treated with the utmost care. Structurally unstable elements were glued back together. The wooden surfaces were regenerated and imperfections refitted.
